Sheffield, Fonzie, Kevim, and Beimel

Gary Sheffield is still in search of a team.  He has yet to find a suitor and hasnt recieved the offer he wants.  I wonder if he’ll be able to find a team if Jermaine Dye hasnt been able to.

Former Met Edgardo Alfonzo wants to return to the Mets.  He wants to end his career as a Met.  He is now 37 and is willing to take a deal worth $1 million and no invite to the big league spring training.  I would like to see Fonzie to return but only for the right price.

Joe Beimel wants a $2 million dollar deal.  And, the Mets arent gonna go that high in price.

Kevim Escobar will likely start the season on the DL, according to Jerry Manuel

Rumors: Sheffield and Marquis

Its been reported that Jeff Francoeur has told reporters that SP Jason Marquis would “love to come” and play with the New York Mets.  Jeff Francoeur is a big fan of Marquis.

This doesn’t seem like a bad move.  Marquis, who is a good pitcher with good numbers for this year, is gonna hit free agency.  He is a NY native and has grit like Francoeur.  He doesn’t make excuses and is a gamer.  Also, it helps that to this date, every team he has been on in the MLB, has made it to the postseason.

Yes, I know……..it’s wishful thinking.

In addition,  Gary Sheffield plans on playing at least one more year, according to Kevin Kernan.  Sheffield would like to return to the Mets, but doesn’t rule out other clubs.  Some interested clubs could be the Astros, Rays, Marlins, and Rangers.

Back from Texas

Im back.  Its good to be back bloggging again.  I had a great time in Houston, visiting one of my relatives.  On Tuesday night, we ventured down to Minute Maid Park and watched a good ballgame.  Minute Maid is a very good stadium to watcha ballgame in.  While I was in Houston, it seemed as though, the Mets had a little of good happen and the usual loads of bad things happen.  David Wright ends up on the disabled list after being hit in th head with a 94 mph fastball.  Every star on the mets besides Krod and Johan have been on the DL…..jeeeeezz.  Luis Castillo hits a +420 foot homer and the Mets continued to lose ballgames.  I also missed Billy’s return, which was great, and Livan get released.  And, oh by the way, Sheff is unhappy.  Its great to be a Mets fan.  Once again, just wait ’til next year.
